If you want to stay in Canada, you need your permit to stay. There are different types of permit such as study permit, work permit, and visitor visa. Study Permit

You need the following documents to apply for a study permit:

  1. Proof of acceptance
  2. Proof of identity
  3. Proof of financial support
  4. Letter of explanation for why you want to study in Canada

Who can apply?

Anyone accepted by a school, college, university or other educational institution in Canada and also fit the following criteria:

Able to prove that you have enough money to pay for

  • Tuition fees,
  • Living expenses for yourself and any family members who are coming with you to Canada,
  • Return transportation for yourself and any family members coming with you to Canada.

You must be a law-abiding citizen with no criminal record and not be a risk to the security of Canada. You may have to provide a police certificate.

You must be in good health and willing to complete a medical examination.

You must give your word to an immigration officer that you will leave Canada when you have completed your studies.

Visitor Visa

Canada welcomes tourists, students and temporary workers. Every year, more than 5 million people visit Canada to enjoy the many opportunities our country has to offer.

Depending on where you live and the reason for your visit, you will need to meet certain entry requirements. In some cases, if you plan to stay in Canada for a certain period of time, you will need a Temporary Resident Visa.

Who can apply?

If you plan to visit Canada, you must:

  • Have a valid passport,
  • Be in good health,
  • Prove to an immigration officer that you have ties that will take you back to your country of origin such as a job, home and family,
  • Give your word to an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit and,
  • Have enough money for your stay. The amount of money you will need can vary with the circumstances of the visit, how long you will stay and whether you will stay in a hotel or with friends or relatives. For more information, ask the Canadian visa office in your country or region.

You may also need one or more of the following:

  • Temporary Resident Visa, depending on your citizenship,
  • Proof that you passed a medical examination and,
  • Letter from your sponsor in Canada.
